Export & 3D Printing

Export a rocket's printable parts as slicer-ready 3MF files.

The exporter creates 3MF files for the structural parts in your rocket. Open them in your slicer to choose their orientation and print settings.

Export a 3D model#

Export 3D Model lives in the rocket menu in the editor header, and appears whenever the design has printable parts. The export is two steps:

  1. Pick the parts. The first step of the export dialog shows the printable parts in an expandable checkbox tree that follows the rocket's structure. All printable parts are selected by default. Clear an individual part to leave it out, or clear a parent or stage to exclude every printable part below it. A counter shows how many parts are selected.
  2. Choose the options.
Resolution

Normal or High, each shown with its mesh tolerance — the trade between file size and surface smoothness.

Output

Separate files — one .3mf per part, delivered as a ZIP — or a single .3mf containing every selected part as a named object.

Move parts to origin

On by default: each part is centered at the origin, ready to drop on a print bed. Turn it off and parts keep their assembled positions in the rocket.

Motors, parachutes and payload masses are left out because the builder does not model them as solid printable parts.
